Wouldn't it be nice if war could be bloodless? What if both sides in a conflict agreed to fight online, in some massively multiplayer wargame (ex: Counterstrike, America's Army)? We're used to cashless transactions and credit cards (who buys anything with hard dollars anymore?) - why not bloodless war?
This would let everyone from both sides to get in on the action: grandmothers, kids, even smart cats. It allows all the bottled up rage and hate to be vented out but when it is over we can all can sleep well at night. We could even see what Bush and Cheney are made of. I think a whole generation of kids are growing up playing video games that are so realistic that many of them do not need to experience the real thing (why fight a real war, you only get one life - in the online world you can play again and again and again).
At first glance this may sound like a really stupid idea - but hey, look at the alternative.

An artist charges 35,000 for his unusual artwork featuring the remains of a fox and hare killed on the road...

There's only one problem with that:
American kids and teenagers like myself play online games way too much, so we'd have a completely unfair advantage over everyone. Except maybe Japan or something like that. :P Cool idea though!
